An important update on 2023 Awards and Conference
News
As a result of consultation with NKBA members through our post-conference survey, the NKBA Board will be making some changes to the 2023 NKBA Excellence in Design Awards and the NKBA Conference. These changes will impact any member who enters the awards or attends conference, so please read carefully.
Changes to Timing of Conference and Awards
NKBA has made the decision to split the conference and awards into two separate events. Planning for 2023 is still in progress, however it has been confirmed by the NKBA Board that we will be holding the 2023 Conference in June and the Excellence in Design Awards in September.
Locations, dates and details of these events will be released in 2023, however we understand the busy nature of our industry and so wanted to indicate early the change to usual proceedings.
The reason for the split is to ensure the NKBA Conference becomes a successful balance of education and networking. The conference can often be under time pressure and the split will ensure adequate time and focus from members on the conference programme. In turn, the Excellence in Design Awards is one of the greatest celebrations of our industry and deserves its time in the spotlight. We are confident this split will be well received and supported by our members.
Awards Entry Date to Change
The NKBA Excellence in Design Awards entry date has changed and will now open at the end of October 2022. This means entries will close in March 2023. This change is to ensure adequate time for the judging and marketing portion of the awards. If you had planned to enter projects in the 2023 awards, please take note of this date change.
Changes to Awards T&Cs
There will be changes to the Excellence in Design Awards T&Cs. In our next newsletter, which will be released in November, we will detail all these changes and what this will mean for members. We wanted to assure all our members that we have listened to the feedback you provided in our survey, and we are making changes to better align with what our members want.
Thank you to all that completed the survey; we appreciate your feedback.
