Membership Categories & Fees

 

Membership Category Annual Fee*   Description
Designer - Small Business $550  

Membership at one regional branch for designer members only, employing up to two designers.
Regional Membership $690  

Membership at one regional branch for all designer (with more than two staff), supplier, and manufacturer members.  It does not include franchises. 
Regional Link Membership $620  

This membership rate (10% discount) applies if your company classifies as a Regional member and your company is also a current financial member of the Master Joiners Association or other appropriate associations primarily engaged in the manufacture and or supply of kitchens and bathrooms, or the Designers’ Institute of New Zealand.
National Membership $1,840  

This membership applies to a company and all the branches of that company where the company employs head office employees, regional Employees or branch employees. Branches must be part of the parent company, not franchises, owner operated businesses or sole traders. If your company operates under more than one company name within the industry, then a separate membership is required for each company name. **
Franchise Membership $385  

This membership applies to franchises/owner-operated businesses and is only available if the franchisor (franchise National Office) holds a National membership.
Associate Membership $400  

Membership for a company in an associated industry, e.g. architect. Does not apply to suppliers or manufacturers.
Administration Fee Single Fee*    
Membership Application Fee $50  

All applications for membership incur a non-refundable administration fee which must be paid when the application is submitted. Applications will only be processed when this fee has been paid.

 

 *fees are GST exclusive.

** If the company operates under more than one company name within the industry, a separate membership is required for each name.

  • Listing on the 'Find a Designer' page of the NKBA website for all DNKBA designers employed by the member
  • Access to NKBA online educational resources
  • One vote at the NKBA AGM, plus one regional branch committee vote
  • Member and its employees entitled to enter the NKBA Excellence in Design Awards
  • Employees may attend meetings and events in their local region
  • Receive e-comms from NKBA.  

National Membership 

  • Membership at all regional branches
  • Use of NKBA logo/brand
  • Listing on the 'Find a Member' page of the NKBA website
  • Use of DNKBA (Designers of NKBA) logo
  • Listing on the 'Find a Designer' page of the NKBA website for all DNKBA designers employed by the member
  • Access to NKBA online educational resources
  • One vote at the NKBA AGM, plus one vote at all regional branches where the member has branches
  • Member and its employees entitled to enter the NKBA Excellence in Design Awards
  • Employees may attend meetings and events in all regions
  • Receive e-comms from NKBA. 

Franchise Membership

  • Membership at one regional branch per franchisee
  • Use of NKBA logo/brand
  • Listing on the 'Find a Member' page of the NKBA website
  • Use of DNKBA (Designers of NKBA) logo
  • Listing on the 'Find a Designer' page of the NKBA website for all DNKBA designers employed by the member
  • Access to NKBA online educational resources
  • One vote at the NKBA AGM for the franchisor
  • One regional branch committee vote per franchise, in their respective region
  • Franchisor and its franchisees/employees entitled to enter the NKBA Excellence in Design Awards
  • Employees may attend meetings and events in their local region
  • Receive e-comms from NKBA.

Associate Membership

  • Membership at one regional branch
  • Use of NKBA logo/brand
  • Listing on the 'Find a Member' page of the NKBA website
  • Access to NKBA online educational resources
  • One vote at the NKBA AGM, plus one regional branch committee vote
  • Employees may attend meetings and events in their local region
  • Receive e-comms from NKBA.

Associated Industry members may not hold a position of office. Designers are not eligible for DNKBA tiering or to enter the NKBA Excellence in Design Awards.
