2025 DNKBA Scholarships - Applications Open!
Designers of NKBA (DNKBA) is proud to offer up to four scholarships each year to New Zealand Diploma in Kitchen Design students who demonstrate outstanding potential and passion for the industry. Recipients receive financial and mentoring support for the duration of their studies.
Three scholarships are available in 2025, thanks to our generous partners at Blum, New Zealand Panels Group, and Resene.
Scholarship Details
2025 Scholarship Recipients will receive:
- NZD $5,500 to support the recipient to complete the New Zealand Diploma in Kitchen Design
- travel/accommodation expenses (if required) to attend the DNKBA Scholarship Sponsors Day and NKBA Excellence in Design Awards in Auckland on Friday 5 September 2025
- mentoring throughout the scholarship term from experienced Designers of NKBA.
Applications
2025 Scholarships are open to Applicants who:
- are enrolled in the New Zealand Diploma of Kitchen Design via BCITO;
- attended Block Course One (OJT1) between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025; and
- have worked as a kitchen industry professional for a minimum of 6 months in a design capacity.
Applicants need to complete an application form and submit the following information:
- CV
- contact details for an industry referee
- summaries of why they have applied for a scholarship, why they have chosen a career in kitchen/bathroom design, their long-term goals, and why they should be awarded the scholarship
- examples of their design work, including plans, elevations and before and after photographs (if available)
- any relevant design qualifications or achievements.
All applications must be fully submitted by 5pm on Monday 12 May 2025.

Selection Process
- The DNKBA Advisory Group will assess applications after the closing date and select Recipients based on the quality of their application and their industry potential.
- Successful Recipients will be notified by Friday 30 May 2025.
- Recipients will be announced by NKBA on 3 June 2025.
- Recipients will receive a DNKBA Scholarship certificate at the 2025 NKBA Excellence in Design Awards event.
