Demand, delays and lack of supply

November 19th, 2020

Dear Members,

A friendly reminder that in addition to the pre-Christmas rush, there are shortages across most products, materials, hardware and appliances in New Zealand. This demand is leading to delivery and supply issues for designers, joiners and our clients, and a strained supply chain across many of our industry brands with pressure mounting.

We know you all take client satisfaction and communications very seriously and will be doing your utmost to ensure the best outcome for your clients while also carefully handling your precious industry relationships. We recommend being up front with homeowners/clients about potential delays from the outset. We also advise checking in regularly with your preferred suppliers to ensure you are up to date with current order times and potential delays to avoid disappointment.

We have weathered the storm well, however our industry still has a few hurdles to navigate. We ask that we all come together as an industry, be understanding that this is an issue that is out of everyone’s control and that we all be kind to one another. We are all doing our best in this unusual and difficult time.

If you have any concerns or questions, please reach out to the NKBA team. We are here to help.

Best wishes
