Set against the spectacular alpine landscape of Jacks Point, this project was conceived as a family home that balances sophistication, warmth and enduring character. Working in collaboration with Artektus Architects, whose refined monochromatic architecture provided a calm and timeless backdrop, the interior design introduces rich materiality, expressive colour and highly crafted detailing to create spaces that feel both luxurious and deeply personal.

A modern classical aesthetic underpins the design, blending timeless materials including marble, brass, steel and herringbone flooring with contemporary lighting and bespoke joinery. Viola marble became the defining feature throughout the home, chosen not only for its dramatic veining and visual richness but also for its personal connection to the client’s jewellery background. Custom shaker-style joinery and carefully proportioned panel detailing introduce a sense of permanence and craftsmanship, adding depth and texture while softening the clean architectural lines.

One of the project’s most innovative aspects was transforming a large open-plan living wing into a series of distinct yet interconnected experiences. Through subtle changes in floor level, material selection and spatial definition, the home seamlessly transitions between the kitchen and dining area, sunroom and sunken lounge, creating a layered and engaging living environment.

While the master suite offers a calm, timeless retreat, guest suites embrace bolder colour and personality. Transitional spaces, including a central landing and reconfigured laundry-scullery zone, were thoughtfully designed as destinations in their own right, enhancing both functionality and atmosphere. The result is a cohesive and highly resolved home that celebrates craftsmanship, individuality and contemporary alpine living.
