Designed for a growing family of four, this bathroom renovation balances practicality, durability and timeless design while remaining true to the home’s mid-century character. Created for parents and two young children, the brief centred on developing a highly functional family bathroom that could adapt as the children grow, while comfortably supporting multiple users at the same time.

Careful spatial planning was fundamental to the design. The layout was organised into clearly defined zones, allowing the shower, vanity, bath and separate toilet room to be used independently without disrupting circulation. A double vanity with dedicated storage for each family member ensures busy mornings run smoothly, while the separate toilet, complete with its own hand basin and operable skylight, enhances convenience and flexibility.

Storage was a major priority throughout the project. Concealed solutions were thoughtfully incorporated, including mirrored cabinetry, dedicated drawers, hidden laundry storage and extensive shelving to accommodate the demands of everyday family life while maintaining a calm and uncluttered aesthetic. Integrated shower niches, heated towel rails, multiple power points and generous bench space further enhance functionality.

Natural light floods the space through carefully positioned skylights, while layered lighting creates a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the day. Durable porcelain flooring, custom cabinetry and tactile feature tiles provide longevity without compromising style.

The result is a beautifully resolved family bathroom that combines smart planning, practical functionality and mid-century inspired design, creating a space that supports the evolving needs of family life for years to come.
