Perched on a hillside with sweeping views of the surrounding landscape, this kitchen was reimagined as a warm, timeless hub for everyday living and entertaining. Designed for clients who love to host family and friends, the space balances functionality with understated luxury, creating a strong connection between the home’s interior and its natural setting.

Natural materials played a central role in the design. Warm timber flooring replaced the existing cold-toned tiles, bringing comfort underfoot and establishing a cohesive material palette that extends through the crown-cut timber veneer cabinetry. Extensive use of Cosentino Vancouver marble introduces texture, depth, and sophistication, with its organic veining reflecting the colours and forms of the surrounding landscape.

Careful planning ensured the design responded to several existing constraints without compromising aesthetics or usability. The island footprint was retained to accommodate a concealed central vacuum system, while maintaining comfortable circulation throughout the space. Within the scullery, laundry appliances are discreetly hidden behind pocket doors, and the existing laundry chute is seamlessly integrated into a tall storage cupboard.

Generous island seating encourages gathering and connection, supporting the clients’ lifestyle as enthusiastic entertainers. The result is a refined and highly functional kitchen that feels warm, welcoming, and deeply connected to its environment, while effortlessly supporting modern family life.
