Designed for a young couple, Parallel Ensuite was created to balance shared use with personal space, delivering a luxurious retreat that supports everyday routines while maintaining a calm and sophisticated atmosphere. The brief called for an ensuite that could comfortably accommodate two people at the same time, incorporating generous storage, a spacious walk-in shower and a separate toilet, while providing dedicated personal zones and a timeless aesthetic.
Appointed during the consent stage of the new-build project, the designer team focused on combining practicality with refined materiality. At the centre of the space is Beverly Rose natural stone, selected for its expressive veining and subtle tonal variation. This striking material creates a focal point while harmonising with the surrounding finishes, establishing a seamless flow of colour and texture throughout the room.
A custom-stained timber veneer vanity introduces warmth and depth, complementing the stone and creating a sophisticated, layered palette. The vanity extends to floor level to maximise storage, while full-height mirrored cabinetry provides additional concealed storage and enhances the sense of space by reflecting natural light throughout the room.
A generous walk-in shower features underfloor heating to assist water evaporation and improve day-to-day comfort. The continuation of the feature stone into the shower reinforces visual continuity and strengthens the design narrative. A separate toilet enclosure provides privacy and allows the ensuite to function comfortably for two users, while fluted glass introduces natural light without compromising discretion. The result is a refined and enduring sanctuary that seamlessly blends luxury, functionality and thoughtful design.
