This renovation transformed a dated bathroom and separate WC into a sophisticated, gallery-inspired retreat designed for a professional couple living in a high-density urban environment. The brief called for a luxurious and highly functional sanctuary that combined refined materials, clever storage solutions and a strong sense of personality.

The project centred on reconfiguring the original layout by removing the dividing wall to create a single, spacious room. This transformation made way for a statement oval bath, generous circulation space and the opportunity for the room to be used comfortably by two people at once. A concealed linen cupboard, discreetly accessed from the hallway, maximised storage while maintaining clean architectural lines within the bathroom.

A refined material palette featuring Murales Ice tiles, custom walnut cabinetry and aged brass detailing creates a timeless sense of elegance. Large-format surfaces are paired with herringbone patterns to introduce texture and visual interest, while brass tapware and sensor-activated mood lighting enhance the luxurious atmosphere.

Art played a central role in the design. A striking Virginia King bronze sculpture serves as a focal point above the bath, complemented by bespoke artwork from Kurt Ensor, whose urban-inspired pieces introduce contrast and individuality.

The result is a carefully curated retreat that balances luxury, practicality and artistic expression, transforming an ordinary bathroom into a unique and immersive wellness experience.
