Green Envy is a sophisticated powder room designed to capture the mood and character of its alpine surroundings while delivering a refined contemporary experience. Inspired by the bush-clad hills and dramatic landscape beyond, the brief called for a dark, atmospheric space that balanced architectural impact with practicality, incorporating durable materials, discreet storage and thoughtful guest privacy.
The design centres on a striking floating vanity that immediately draws attention upon entry. A sculptural charcoal concrete basin sits atop a bespoke porcelain plinth, establishing a strong visual presence while extending the length of the room to create a sense of scale. Integrated within this feature is cleverly concealed storage, providing space for everyday essentials without disrupting the clean aesthetic.
A rich palette of materials creates depth and texture throughout the space. Large-format Neolith Amazonico porcelain wall slabs reference the colours and textures of the surrounding alpine bush, while brass accents introduce warmth and sophistication. An oversized custom mirror framed in brass-finished steel amplifies light and space, becoming both a practical and architectural feature. Wall-mounted tapware further reinforces the minimalist design approach.
Guest comfort and privacy were carefully considered, with the WC positioned out of direct sight upon entry. Subtle, layered lighting highlights the textures of the materials and enhances the room’s moody ambience, creating depth and visual interest. The result is a memorable powder room that combines bold architectural expression with natural inspiration, delivering a luxurious and highly refined space that complements the contemporary home beyond.
