This striking new-build holiday home was conceived as a contemporary coastal retreat, designed for an overseas couple who wanted a luxurious yet understated space to enjoy with family and friends. Nestled amongst the sand dunes, Dune Lodge was designed to accommodate both everyday holiday living and large-scale entertaining, regularly hosting groups of more than 20 guests.

Engaged at the architectural concept stage, Adam Spitz of Vekart led the spatial and cabinetry design throughout the project, remaining involved through to completion. Working closely with the architect and builder, Adam developed the kitchen, scullery and built-in cabinetry throughout the home, alongside detailed material selections, documentation and coordination of services to ensure a cohesive design outcome.

At the heart of the home is a statement kitchen that balances architectural presence with exceptional functionality. Designed as the central hub between indoor and outdoor living spaces, the kitchen reflects the home’s monolithic architectural form while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A fully stone-clad island crafted from Italian Invisible Grey marble forms a dramatic focal point, complemented by rich dark-stained timber veneer cabinetry and premium Gaggenau appliances.

A concealed scullery keeps preparation and clean-up separate from entertaining areas, while extensive storage solutions support both everyday use and large gatherings. The result is a sophisticated, high-performing living environment that seamlessly combines luxury, functionality and relaxed coastal living, creating a destination perfectly suited to both quiet retreats and memorable celebrations.
