Dune Lodge is a luxurious coastal retreat nestled within the dunes, designed for an overseas couple who regularly host large gatherings of family and friends. Accommodating more than 20 guests, the home balances refined aesthetics with exceptional functionality, creating a sophisticated yet relaxed environment that celebrates its beachside setting.

The design team was engaged from the earliest architectural concept stage through to completion, delivering spatial planning, bespoke cabinetry design, material selection, detailed documentation and HVAC coordination. The kitchen was conceived as the heart of the home, serving as both a striking visual centerpiece and a highly functional hub for large-scale entertaining.

At its centre is a fully stone-clad island crafted from Invisible Grey marble, imported from Italy and selected for its dramatic movement and texture. Its sculptural form reflects the home’s monolithic architecture, expansive glazing and large-format cladding. Dark-stained Toitū veneer cabinetry introduces warmth and depth, complementing the cedar-lined ceilings and walls throughout the interior.

A concealed scullery enables food preparation and clean-up to occur discreetly out of sight, preserving the kitchen’s elegant appearance during gatherings. Premium Blum Legrabox storage systems and Revego pocket door technology enhance functionality, resulting in a timeless, high-performing family and entertaining space that embodies modern lodge luxury.
