This project showcases the successful fusion of innovative manufacturing, expert craftsmanship, and thoughtful design to deliver a striking, highly customised kitchen while remaining within budget. Central to the design is the sculptural island, featuring both internal and external curves that create a distinctive architectural focal point within the space.

To achieve the client’s vision of a natural timber-look finish, Dezignatek Swurves Prague in Ranfurly Oak was selected for the island cladding and overhead cabinetry, ensuring a seamless woodgrain appearance throughout the kitchen. This solution provided the warmth and character of timber while offering a practical and cost-effective alternative to traditional curved solid timber construction.

The island presented significant manufacturing challenges, including the creation of recessed curved toe kicks that followed the island’s profile and the precise alignment of complex curved panels. The most technically demanding aspect occurred where the internal and external curves converged, requiring meticulous fabrication and installation to ensure smooth transitions, consistent joins, and flawless visual flow.

By combining traditional joinery expertise with innovative curved panel technology, the team successfully delivered an exceptional piece of custom cabinetry that balances architectural ambition, functionality, and value.
