Artisan & Oak was created for a busy family of five living in a working farm homestead, where the kitchen plays a central role in everyday life. Supporting everything from family meals and after-school activities to weekend entertaining for friends, family, and the wider community, the brief called for a modern farmhouse kitchen that combined practicality, warmth, and timeless style.

The design was developed early in the renovation process before building plans were finalised, allowing the kitchen layout to be shaped entirely around the family’s lifestyle. Existing concepts were reworked from scratch to deliver a more functional and connected space. The result is a carefully zoned kitchen that maximises workflow, storage, and social interaction. Tall pantry and refrigeration elements anchor either side of the galley, while a large central island provides an uninterrupted workspace for meal preparation, baking, and preserving, with ample room for guests to gather comfortably.

Thoughtful storage solutions ensure everyday appliances and provisions remain organised and hidden from view, helping maintain clear benchtops and a sense of calm. The aesthetic balances refined farmhouse charm with contemporary detailing, featuring Oslo Shaker cabinetry, warm oak accents, and contrasting island finishes. A sliding servery window and outdoor connection further enhance the home’s entertaining capabilities, creating a welcoming kitchen that is both hardworking and beautifully crafted.
