This bespoke kitchen renovation within a Fraemohs home required exceptional attention to detail to overcome a series of complex site constraints. The compact space, combined with an angled end wall, meant every aspect of the cabinetry had to be precisely measured and manufactured to ensure a seamless fit with minimal scribing.
Recognising the importance of accuracy from the outset, the project Detailer conducted a comprehensive site visit to verify dimensions and identify potential manufacturing and installation challenges early in the process. This proactive approach informed several tailored design solutions, including a slim pantry unit beside the refrigerator featuring a push-to-open system. Designed to blend discreetly with the angled wall, the pantry reads as a seamless panel rather than drawing attention to the room’s unusual geometry.
Additional design challenges included exposed structural beams intersecting the proposed joinery. Careful measurement of beam heights and positions, along with allowances for the new flooring, enabled the cabinetry to be built to its maximum practical height while maintaining clean lines throughout. An open shelving section was also incorporated to provide functional storage and accommodate the beam detail.
The success of this project lay in the precision of its detailing and measurements, resulting in a beautifully resolved kitchen that feels effortless despite the complexity behind its construction.
