FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please read the information below and contact us if you have any further questions - we're here to help.
Q. What is the Melbourne Design Tour? And does it replace Conference?
A. The Melbourne Design Tour is an alternative event offering for 2025. It is going to be a unique, innovative and intimate event for attendees. Instead of a traditional conference, located in one venue, attendees will be travelling across Melbourne to attend educational and learning events including showroom experiences from partners, hear from guest speakers and attend networking events. We are very excited about the Melbourne Design Tour and the value it will give attendees.
Q. When is the 2025 NKBA Design Tour?
A. This event will take place in Melbourne and is made up of a 2-day Design tour on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 June, followed by the Melbourne Kitchen+Bath show on Friday 13 June. There will also be a fantastic welcome event on the evening of Tuesday 10 June.
Q. How do I register for the NKBA Melbourne Design Tour?
A. You can register as an individual or a group for the Design Tour via the green 'register' button at the top of the page (the link will be available soon). There are a range of ticket options available so make sure you scroll right through the list to select the correct one.
Q. Is there a limited number of spaces on the Melbourne Design Tour?
A. Yes, this is a limited-capacity event to ensure an intimate and phenomenal learning environment for attendees. If you are interested, you must act fast to reserve a space.
Q. What if I've already registered for the original NKBA Conference?
A. No problem - your registration will automatically be transferred to the 2025 Melbourne Design Tour.
Q. I didn’t register for the 2025 Conference; can I attend the Melbourne Design Tour?
A. Yes, all attendees must register by 6 April 2025. Numbers are limited, so we advise registering as soon as possible.
Q. When will the full Design Tour programme be released?
A. Details about the programme for the Melbourne Design Tour will be released soon to ensure you can make an informed decision. We will be releasing information on our website and social media.
Q. Do I need to bring my ticket on the day?
A. No, delegates will receive a pre-printed lanyard at registration instead of a ticket.
Q. Can you recommend nearby accommodation?
A. We have secured some fantastic discount rates at centrally located accommodation options. Visit the Venue & Accommodation page for more information.
Q. What is the dress code for the Design Tour?
A. Business casual. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes as the tour will involve walking. Winter in Melbourne can be quite cold, so a warm coat and umbrella might also come in useful.
Q. Will dietary needs be catered for?
A. Yes definitely. Please note dietary requirements/allergies when purchasing your ticket.
Q. What about the Partner Pod sessions?
A. Our partners are a very important and integral part of the NKBA. The change in event style has meant the partner pods are not possible for 2025; however, many of our partners will be inviting you into their Melbourne showrooms to talk about new and innovative products and services. We know this will be a valuable opportunity for all our members.
Additionally, in New Zealand, throughout the year, we will ensure there are many opportunities to see the partners at the local Design and Product expos.
Q. When will the 2025 NKBA Excellence in Design Awards event be held?
A. This year's EiD Gala event will be a sit-down event held in Auckland on Friday 5 September. Embrace the glitz & glamour of the evening with your best formal or cocktail attire. Register here.
Q. I booked to attend the orginial EiD Awards event in Melbourne, but I want to go to the EiD Awards in Auckland instead. What can I do?
A. We are offering support for our members who have booked tickets to Melbourne to only attend the EiD awards. We can assist with exploring options for moving flights to Auckland and if required reimbursement. However, we would like you to read all the information about our upcoming Melbourne design tour before you decide, as we think you will see value in the new programme.
In addition, for all members who entered the Excellence in Design Awards in the original timeframe, we are offering a 20% discount on tickets to the Auckland awards event as a sign of appreciation for your flexibility at this time.
